    Who Couples Therapy Is For?

    ​Every relationship experiences challenges. Couples therapy can provide a supportive space to better understand one another, improve communication, navigate conflict, and strengthen your connection. Many couples seek therapy when they find themselves having the same arguments repeatedly, feeling disconnected, struggling to communicate effectively, recovering from infidelity or breaches of trust, or facing major life transitions together.​ Couples therapy is not only for relationships in crisis. In fact, I often encourage couples to consider therapy before significant problems develop. Just as people invest in their physical health through preventive care, couples can invest in the health of their relationship by developing stronger communication skills, deepening emotional intimacy, and gaining a better understanding of one another. ​ Many partners seek support to strengthen their connection, improve trust, prepare for marriage, navigate family-building decisions, cope with infertility, fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, or the emotional challenges that can accompany the path to parenthood. Couples may also seek therapy while adjusting to major life changes, blending families, or working through differences in values, expectations, or future goals. Whether you're experiencing a specific challenge or simply want to create a stronger foundation for your relationship, therapy can help partners move away from blame and defensiveness and toward greater understanding, collaboration, and connection.

    My Approach to Couples Therapy

    My work with couples focuses on understanding the patterns that develop within relationships and how those patterns influence communication, conflict, emotional connection, and intimacy. Together, we identify recurring cycles that may leave both partners feeling misunderstood, frustrated, or disconnected. I strive to create an environment where both individuals feel heard, respected, and supported. Rather than determining who is right or wrong, therapy focuses on helping partners better understand themselves, each other, and the relationship they are creating together. The goal is to build stronger communication, deepen emotional connection, and create lasting changes that support the health of the relationship.

    ​Couples therapy is offered virtually to partners located throughout Ohio. Telehealth allows couples to access support from the comfort of their own home while eliminating the challenges of commuting and scheduling around busy lives. Many couples find that virtual therapy provides a convenient and effective way to prioritize their relationship. Sessions are conducted through a secure telehealth platform designed to protect privacy and confidentiality while allowing meaningful therapeutic work to take place.
